Progress.

Part of this blog will be about progress. I want to show my paintings as I work on them as sort of a way to show myself that I really am getting things done - even though a lot of times it seems like I'm stuck standing still without making any progress at all.

Above is a blank piece of tile board that is covered in gesso. It's pretty much what the beginning of any of my projects looks like.


Next we have sketches. Nothing really complete or amazing but they represent the birth of an idea that will be the theme of the piece. My sketches are emotionally driven. I sketch wherever I can sometimes when I'm nervous (my planner up there for example).Above are pictures of my workspace and the beginnings of the painting. I don't really like it how it is now. The colors are not what I wanted. The background is okay but as far as the figure goes... bleh.

Halfway there.

So yesterday in a moment of complete boredom at work – I cleaned out my school e-mail address. Over all the inbox was pretty tame since it just had maybe four or five months of mail from where I registered in May.

Now as far as my personal e-mail account. That’s going to be a nightmare. I don’t even want to look at the subjects of some of those. Especially some recent ones. However – I might just hold that off until I’m feeling particularly good about trashing that part of my life. When I get in the right mood, I’ll just go through and delete everything in the inbox. If I haven’t gone searching through my e-mail for anything important the whole time I have had the address, nothing terribly important will be there anyway.

New Title!

So the title of this thing has already changed.

It shall now be known as....

Quest to Draw Confident Lines

First Post

So this is the first post here. It won't be anything too amazing. This is obvious since its early in the am.

Blogger seems to be getting more and more trendy. I was inspired by my roommate's blog
which is really cool with photos every day and of course Mitu started one as well but she needs to post in hers more. Hopefully I will be able to really write here. I have had some trysts with other blogging places like livejournaland of course crazylife ...

I will possibly kick myself later for not coming up with a better name for the blog. For some reason 'emote till we're dead' just kept coming up or 'suffer for fashion' Of course they are Of Montreal lyrics that get stuck in my head.

The address is fine because its from a screen name I'm actually happy with. Rather fitting in a way. As for the title itself... its wonderfully generic isn't it? If I can change it later I'll be happy as long as I can change it to something that's meaningful to me.

Yeah... I painted today...

I'm mostly going to use this blog for art related things - like updates on what projects I'm working on and such. I want to keep this blog positive. I don't really want to wade around in the same depressing stuff that I used to post about.

By the way, this is Erato. Facebook people might already be familiar with her. This is the 'improved' version. The camera didn't really capture the colors well. She looks a lot better in person. People also say that she looks better at an angle.
